Gunna – WUNNA Album Review

YSL's prized possession, Gunna, is back with a hard-hitting sophmore album that is here to stay. Phenomenal features from Young Thug, Roddy Rich, Travis Scott, Lil Baby, and more help skyrocket this project to the next level.

Following Drip or Drown 2, I had no doubt in my mind what Gunna was capable of as a musical artist. Every project he continues to perfect his artistic style. Bars on Wunna flow so smoothly that after the first listen, you instantly want to play it again.

The opening 4 tracks are phenomenal solos that feature production from both Turbo and Wheezy, YSL’s resident producers, and a few other guest producers. Feigning is a hard-hitting track with production from Grayson & Tay Keith. This song we should expect to see a ton of dancing videos too. It will definitely be a good club hit.

Gunna’s flow and timing are almost perfected on every track on Wunna. The title track, "WUNNA", is the epitome of Gunna’s modernized lifestyle. "TOP FLOOR" is arguably the best Travis $cott feature so far of 2020. He kills it with his auto-tuned chorus and smooth vocals. Gunna comes in on the first verse with perfect timing and a sick flow.

After about 3 full listens, I believe that this album deserves a solid 7.7 / 10.0 There are a lot of things done right on this album. The production is spot on, Gunna’s solo performances are standouts and not just eye-rollers, and the whole album is like a digital page-turner.
